Shortly after moving to Calgary, I was hired by Computer Upgrading Specialists as a Deployment Technician. I worked on a project to upgrade over 6,000 systems at a major oil and gas company. Subsequently I was promoted to the project management team where I provided technical and administration services for CUS on a number of other major projects.

CUS not only provided me valuable experience and contacts, but also accommodated my IT training and courses so that I was eventually able to obtain permanent full-time employment in the industry. CUS played a major role in the early development of my IT career. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone striving to develop their career in the IT industry.

IT Service Desk Analyst

In January, 2011 I was hired by Computer Upgrading Specialists Ltd. as a technician working in Entry Level Deskside Support for a medium sized company of 400 employees, head quartered in Calgary, Alberta.

This company manages the procurement and distribution of all electricity for the province, so this is an expanding, exciting environment utilizing leading edge technological tools to manage their business. Last year I was hired by them into full-time permanent status with full benefits.

I don't know how I ever would have got such a great career like this without the help and support of Computer Upgrading Specialists Ltd.

Lead Support Technician

Soon after graduating from SAIT’s Network Technician course in 2009, I was hired by Computer Upgrading Specialists Ltd. as a technician on a major project to upgrade Suncor’s workstations. At the completion of this project I was hired by CompuCom (a division of General Electric) to work at Suncor in Deskside and Network Support.

In September, 2014 CUS provided me an opportunity to assume a lead support technician role for an expanding mid-sized manufacturing company – Evergreen Solutions. In this role I was responsible for supporting Evergreen with all of their IT needs including workstations, network, telephony, etc. and subsequently all the IT requirements for their relocation to their new facilities. At the successful completion of their move to new facilities, Evergreen hired me, where I continue to support them today.

None of these opportunities would have been obtained without the assisting of Computer Upgrading Specialists.
